CONTRACT
ROASTING
A transparent roasting and packaging service for brands that want control over quality and margin.
Contract Roasting is built around a roasting and packaging service rather than the sale of finished coffee. In all cases, the client owns the green coffee — whether it is sourced through us or supplied directly. It is not a brand partnership; you retain full control over the coffee, the brand, and how it is sold. Owning the green coffee allows you to control cost at its source, optimise purchasing over time, and build significantly stronger margins than buying roasted coffee.
While the end result is still expertly roasted coffee, the way it is produced creates meaningful advantages around cost control, scalability, and long-term margin performance.
How Contract Roasting Works
Contract roasting is a structured production model with clear responsibilities, predictable costs, and defined decision points.
-
You own the green coffee. We can source coffees based on your quality, origin, and price targets, or work with green you supply directly.
-
Selected coffees are sample roasted and cupped. Once approved, the green coffee is purchased and allocated to your production.
-
We develop a roast profile aligned with your goals, supported by cupping and sensory analysis.
-
Coffee is roasted in defined batch sizes, charged per roasted kilogram, with consistency and repeatability as the priority.
-
Coffee is packed to your specification and shipped on a fixed weekly schedule.
-
Each roast is cupped, with results documented and shared. You will have access to your own QC portal where you can view all roast reports and leave feedback.
SourCing & Green Coffee
We source green coffee through our existing network of importers and suppliers, with a focus on organic and specialty-grade coffees. Based on your quality targets, flavour profile, and price range, we provide a shortlist of currently available options.
You can select which coffees you would like sample roasted. Each sample roast costs €50 and includes roasting, cupping by our team, and a full sensory evaluation with a cupping score. If you would like the remaining roasted samples for your own internal cupping, they can be shipped to you at cost.
Green coffee sourcing can be time sensitive. High-quality coffees are often purchased quickly, and availability can change from week to week. Once a coffee is approved, we move to confirm pricing and secure the lot.
Roast Development
& QUALITY CONTROL
We develop a roast profile based on your specifications, target flavour profile, and intended use. This is done using full-size production batches to ensure the profile translates directly to ongoing roasting.
Each development roast is charged at €100 per batch, plus the cost of the green coffee used. This includes detailed cupping and sensory evaluation by our roasting and QC team. With clear alignment upfront, profiles are typically approved within one to two test roasts.
Once a roast profile is approved, it becomes the reference profile for all future production roasts, ensuring consistency and repeatability over time.
Quality control is built into every production roast. Each roast is cupped internally, with results documented and shared. Clients can optionally receive structured sensory QC reports at €35 per report and provide feedback through a dedicated QC portal, creating a clear feedback loop and helping ensure the coffee continues to meet expectations as volumes scale. Our goal is a repeatable, consistent, and quality-focused production process.
Production COST
Production roasting is charged per kilogram of roasted coffee, based on the batch size used. All pricing is calculated on roasted weight.
15 kg batch: €3.70 per roasted kg
25 kg batch: €3.42 per roasted kg
Higher and more consistent order volumes can access improved rates over time.
Where required, grinding is available at an additional €1.00 per kg.
Packaging can be handled as part of the same production run. You can supply your own bags and labels, or work with us to have packaging produced to your specification.
Packing is charged per element:
Bag only: €0.10 per bag
Bag + label: €0.20 per bag
Bag + two labels: €0.30 per bag
Our roasting schedule is flexible, and we typically need 24-48 hours notice to produce your coffee. Finished coffee — packed or in bulk — is dispatched on the following Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, depending on order size and destination. Shipping costs are calculated separately.
